Teams are limited to the first 58 foursomes. Although the name implies you must be invited to play, the Ghost Tree Invitational is open to the public, no invitation needed. The 2007 and 2008 event was sold out, so get your team registrations in early.

We're happy to once again feature separate Gross and Net Divisions and have prizes for each.

There are two divisions to compete in at the Ghost Tree Invitational. Each division has its own awards and prizes. Winnings will be awarded to the highest place in one division, for example; if you finish second in the Net Division and third in the Gross Division, you will be awarded the Net Prize only.

The format for the 2008 Ghost Tree Invitational golf tournament has changed a little. You must select a division to compete in, either Gross or Net. Only amateur golfers are eligible to receive team prizes, PGA Professionals may play in the event and win individual prizes but their presence in a foursome makes that team ineligible for team prizes.

Gross Division
The gross division has undergone the most change for 2008. Instead of a scramble format, we are now using a 2 ball best ball of the four players, one ball is gross and one is net. Those two scores on each hole are combined to determine the team score for that hole.

Each team is composed of four golfers and the maximum number of strokes that a player can receive is 14 per round, no strokes will be given on the par three's during play. This will help level the playing field within the gross division. For example, you can have a player on your team that is an 18 handicap, but he/she is only going to receive 14 strokes during the round of play, none falling on the par threes.

Gross Division Prizes
At a mimimum the top three teams will be awarded prizes. The winning team receives a travel credit to the destination of their choice. Additionally, we will award a separate prize for the lowest round of the day by an individual within the gross division, the Medalist's Trophy.

Net Division
The Net Division is remaining the same from the 2007 event. The format is a four person scramble. You must take a minimum of three drives per player during the round.

To formulate your net division team, each player must have a USGA handicap. If the player does not have a USGA handicap please contact our office and we'd be happy to speak with you about establishing a tournament handicap. You must provide us a minimum of four scorecards from recent rounds that are signed by the golf shop from which the round was played. The maximum allowable handicap for the net division is 36. A player may have a higher handicap than 36, but they will only receive 36 shots during the round. The Ghost Tree will then take an average/percentage of the overall team handicap to establish your adjusted Team Handicap for the Net Division.

Net Division Prizes
Several places will be awarded prizes in the Net Division. The winning team will receive a travel credit to the destination of their choice.

KP's - Long Drives - Hole In One Holes - Etc
As in previous years, we will have closest to the pin contests on each par three for men and women, long drives for men and women and numerous hole in one opportunities throughout your round.
